it is a bit out of scale though. That is it is to big. I understand your problem of how to ground your structures. and I understand what you tried to do in the bottom two renderings. But the first rendering is still the most promising. Start research on mangrove trees http://borrowedearth.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/mangrove0459sm.jpg http://www.mangrove.de/mangrove/images/mangrove.jpg that should give you an idea how you can support mass on very thin and fibrous elements.
and scale down the structures as they seem to be pretty big right now.
Be also careful to not make it look like a Llebeus Woods or Dali project ;)
