Chewing gum Playground, Stefania Solaro

The upper image is a bigger size. I am still working on how to make the transition between the net and the rest of the elements

I start all the geometry from scratch to make it cleanner. I play with the bubbles in the ground, in order to give more life and viscous aspect to the playground. I am still working on the render results, as well as how the joints between the net and the suspending elements looks like, to get a more natural transition. The upper level is defined by the overlapping of two circular pattern layers, one pink and the other skyblue, to get the moire effect.

  1. Thank you for posting
I think preparing your design for printing will give you exactly the right amount of constraints that are neccessary for the refinement of your design.
I cannot see it very clear in the renderings as they are very small (image size: dpi) but you might have the most problems with the upper net (rooflike structure) as I dont know whether or not it has surface thickness :)
Like so many students you still have to figure how you merge your project with the existing site additional in your project the jury will be asking you how you merge it with the surrounding buildings – not only design wise but also structurally
Start to draw sections of your design that will help you to understand this questions.

    To all students:
Before we start preparing for 3D printing we have to figure out about the size of the site model (we should have one site model for the whole studio) either in scale 1:100 or 1:50
So all of you should go tomorrow (Monday) to the 3D print studio with the most recent design and ask which size is better suited for printing in relation to the costs of the models.
According to that information you should adjust the design of your projects for printing.

  2. Thank you for the correction. So, Should I do in autocad, for example, the constructive detail of how the roof merge with the buildings?
For the time being, I didn´t give any thickness to both nets as their are made of fabric and it was better for the moire effects of the render. But I will figure out how should I 3d print it. Probably the holes won´t be phisically done but engrave, as the scale probably won´t allow it.
