BETWEEN 1- Marysol- Wudi, after midterms

We start to work with plans and sections

We work on how the tentacles endings( coiling themselves around the other set of big tentacles)

and we did some experiments about how to work with a gradient coloration ( but it is still not working for the whole shape because it is a complicated one) but we did manage to work in the blur gradient colouring effect for the connexion between the white ground and the red tentacles

    Very good work
(just one thing: please consider if you post too many images it is hard for me to give you precise statements)
so I will refer here solely to your last entry (BETWEEN 1)
Your design is just right so don’t change anything exept for one thing :
You have been working on the interior space and have been suspended a secondary structure. I just ask you to keep the structure but it should come out of the ground. I think this is better as you would not create another element but you have one element which is your design and then you apply your idea to the existing ground – if you now avoid adding new elements you will end up with a great design ;)
I also really love how you treated the ground and how you merged it with the hairy elements (also the color gradient from white to red)
    To all students:
Before we start preparing for 3D printing we have to figure out about the size of the site model (we should have one site model for the whole studio) either in scale 1:100 or 1:50
So all of you should go tomorrow (Monday) to the 3D print studio with the most recent design and ask which size is better suited for printing in relation to the costs of the models.
According to that information you should adjust the design of your projects for printing.

    Dear Sandra,
    Thank you for your comment.

I have one question concerning the 3d printing...
My project works better when the ground is not attaches to the shell/tentacles shape( white ground/red shape)..and this blurring transition i wanted to do works nice i think...so it is ok for the renders, but i don' t know how to deal with it with the 3 d printing model, because if i print it with the ground, the result will be as the ones you didn''t like ( and i agree) of everything together in white...but if i do print only the red shape and jut lay it on the general site model, then all the depressions of the ground and the tentacles emerging from it will be lost...but well, i guess that maybe it is the better option, and the 3d printing will have to be seen next to the renderings to understand the merge and the spaces between the red shell and the white depressions...what do you advice me?

And about you comment, i have one doubt....if the inner net comes from the ground and not the red shell, then not all of it can be so flexible ( i wanted to create here a flexible and soft net different from the big rhizomatic exterior one )..do you think it is ok if some part of it emerge in pink from the ground as structure and lights ,and then the connections between these emergent new net are soft and very flexible in order to create gravity in this different performative space?

    Thanks

  3. 1.
please print the tentacles with the ground
all students will have to find solutions for this problem as all students will have to design the ground in relation to their respective design
I am sure you will find a beautiful solution

    2.
the structures have to come from the ground, as a suspended structure they are seriously degrading your design...
